Don’t eat meat? The SoNo Fest & Chili Cook-off has you covered! Some of our fabulous local Chefs are simmering up hearty vegetarian and vegan chilis that even the carnivores will love. Chef Joanne Sherif of Cardamom Cafe will be serving up a medium-spiced vegetarian bean and veggie version with a sriracha chili sauce and croissant cheese crisp on top. Newcomer The Haven tells us their Sweet & Spicy Chili will include two types of beans, loads of vegetables and a house spicy sauce, and meat eaters will have the option to add candied bacon! Looking for a vegan option? Fill your bowl with Kensington Cafe and Ranchos Cocina’s meatless options, or grab a taste of the Black Eyed Pea Chili from Panama 66 with house made soyrizo, beer and mild chilis. Move over meat, the vegetarian versions are hot this year!
